Ugochi

Ugochi is derived from the two Igbo words: Ugo and Chi.

It is typically short of the Igbo expression 'Ugo-chi-nyere', meaning 'the honor/excellence/beautyBeauty (mma) is closely associated with goodness and its recognition. Ọ dị mma means “it is good/well,” ọ ka mma means “it surpasses good,” i.e. "it is better" while ọ mara mma means “it is beautiful.” The expression mara mma literally links beauty with knowing or recognizing 'mma' (good/goodness). While Ugochi and Ugochukwu have the same meaning and are drawn from the same expression. Ugochi is usually borne by females while Ugochukwu borne by male.
